misty mountains of scotland

typical scottish summer weather!
I was invited to stay with friends on Saturday night near Oban.
this is their veg plot, which I am really impressed with as they constructed it all this year, it is raised 'lazy beds' as their garden soil is little more than a 'raised beach' of compacted earth and more stones than mine!!all laid out to allow acces all along the plot,

also this year they dug out this pond and grew frogs from tadpoles, hopefully to control the slug population and waiting for this lily to flower soon
practising life skills , lighting fire in the wet, for when we run out of oil.
always handy to have a friend to fetch sticks .

Popped over for a visit- have much enjoyed the read at your blog. You really know your stuff when it comes to gardening and so do your friends in Oban ~ wish l had done some veggies this year.
Anyway is nice to visit with a fellow Scot. Hope the weather picks up soon or our summer will be over before we know it.
Cheerio for now

Claire, wish I had a friend like yours there! Fantastic garden with a lovely, lovely view...

One way I see our weather is different than yours is that we have dry Summers -- too dry, in fact! That surprises a lot of people. I need to figure out some clever way to collect more of our over-abundance of winter rain for the garden! The plastic rain barrells run out quickly. But it's not usually too terribly hot here. I've been suffering through heat the past couple days and am always dreaming of living somewhere with tropical fruit and winter sunshine, but need to remind myself that I'd probably "die" if I lived elsewhere!

Your welcome for the card, a bit silly, but I wanted to somehow connect with you offline! But here I am online anyway!

Have a good day!

By friend above, I meant the dog to fetch sticks!!! But you probably recognized that! So far it's chickens and cat for me... And right now in this moment, they are enough!

This looks wonderful. Your summers look grand to me! I am not a heat/sun person at all. The more clouds and fog, the better for me.

The dog is darling and their place looks wonderful! Looks like you had a nice little holiday, eh??

I do not know what you want ;-)

I love the scottish weather more than the hot German.
The dog is cute!

Love the misty mountains. And I love the garden, too! It looks like a pretty relaxed endeavour - my kind of thing!
