waiting on the storm

The sun is shining and all seems calm, just waiting on the terrible forecast weather to hit, hopefully it won't!
I forget what this is, a climbing thing, hiding behind the greenhouse, amazingly with a couple of these gorgeous flowers on it today.
purple brussels sprouts, creating a nice colour if no actuall sprouts!!
the winter sun coming in low this morning and lighting up the leeks
the dew on the brussels sprouts leaves.

Beautiful. Especially your leeks.

That top flower sure looks like a periwinkle (vinca), but here their vines just crawl along the ground...
So?

Yah we are having this glorious sunny and cool day despite warnings of an impending snow storm...

Is it vinca minor on the first pic, a groundcover with dark green leaves and lovely blue flowers?

Yes, thank you Anita for reminding us that is a vinca. I never remember names of flowers.
I love the macro shots. Very very nice.
I hope you stay warm and cozy.

Widside, the leeks are nice and sweet, making good soup! think the flower must be a vinca
Crunchy Carpets, well the rain didn't hit till later on and Sunday afternoon was much better than forecast.
Anita, I think it must be a vinca, half of it is growing across the ground and some growing up through a shrub and the tellis beside the greenhouse.
Becky, nice to find a flower to photograph, it must be a hardy thing! it ended up not being as bad as forecast.

Isn't it incredible how beautiful simplicity can be. I really like all 4 of these pictures.
