todays garden

Casper is very happy with his wee blanket in the greenhouse. video taken with my 'new to me' fancy phone ...lol.... as up till now I've used a flip phone that texts and phones.. nothing else... lol... still have to upload it to laptop to put it on here... see if that works ok.

last week was very nice almost summery weather... because I'm off work this week its snowing in flurries, my usual luck with the weather. I've put my laundry out anyway because it'll get mostly dry and smell nice. as a holiday present to myself I've bought four more seed trays, and two clear lids. and three small ones to start stuff in the house.

in the greenhouse the leeks are doing great, some onions came from last years seed and two trays of marigolds seeded so hopefully have lots for in amongst the vegetables. you can see in the video there is new wood for a veggy plot beside the clothes pole, there did used to be one there but its grown over. it might not get used this year as i'm short on time to get it going, also it'll get filled with fresh manure and it'll be okay for  next year.

oh, it looks good, Claire -- lots of potential still.

and a "hello" to casper on his blanket in the greenhouse!

(what i've been experiencing the past year seems like "covid psychosis", amongst other, sometimes it is very scary, but oft like a "casper the friendly ghost" kind of haunting? can't explain it at all [have tried to medical prof./emergency room but they didn't get it] it is 24/7 and exhausting... be careful as you can be out there, yet relax & enjoy what is in the here and now as much as you can!)

claire, i'm answering your emailed question here... oddly enough? i'm sorry for your loss and i am also going through something similar.
my brother-in-law just died -- he was very far away -- on the other side of the world --so his friends and coworkers there threw a zoom funeral which my husband and his father truly appreciated...
i personally don't like funerals and don't tend to attend anymore -- not even the zoom one. so we did our own personal memorial to him here at home... remembering happier times that we spent together, ate his favorite foods, and on impulse, bought 3 ducklings to have something happy and alive to distract us from our sadness. (absurdly, i named all three after my brother-in-law -- ?!) anyway, this has been working for us here and i recommend these things as a way to remember someone you were once fond of.

and one more... (for this post, and yet having nothing to do with it!?!)

Claire, sorry for replying to you here mostly instead of via email...

it is just that at first my email didn't seem very secure and i have gotten lots of warnings considering your emails in particular -- not sure of the why... now everything else online is suspect too? plus, there is something else going on too, offline. but can't quite explain it -- many strange happenings --so won't try to explain if fully here in this moment either! (i am being terrorized by outside forces. not quite sure as to why?)

p.s. soon i am moving back to that house you once stayed at... and taking my kayak. so memories of our time spent. life ever evolving... not sure what the future holds. but yet?

please stay in touch and let me know whats happening... perhaps you could use an external email source? i used to use the library before I had internet in the house. or a friends house... or an internet cafe?
ah, just thinking of the view from the window.... sit there all day and dream... wonderful.
to get to meet and stay with you in person was just fabulous you were so generous of your time and looked after me so well. i wish it could happen more,,, but likely not to, life etc...
