omlette

two red onions, green pepper, purple aubergine, sugar snap peas, yellow and green courgettes. all destined for a veggy omlette.
our recent frost has 'ended' the season in the garden, the onions are now lifted and drying in the greenhouse, the auergines and peppers are fading away so need cleared out from the greenhouse, the courgettes and peas need chucked into the compost. hopefully the leeks, brussels and parsnips will provide some winter food, and I'll see if lettuce will keep going in the greenhouse or a cold frame for a while.

what COLOUR!! no doubt they made a beautiful and delicious omlette. my mouth is watering. folks around here are pulling up the last of the frost-sogged potato tops and digging all the roots now. And it's been raining off and on for weeks. what showed promise of being a bumper crop for the grain farmers is at risk of rotting in the fields.

Aha. Your courgette is our zucchini. I just looked it up to be sure.

Love the colors.

Yummy sounding and beautiful veggies all around. I picked flowers, summer squash, green beans and cherry tomatoes out back today.

Grannyfiddler, I had a very nice omlette, garlic in it too! its been very wet here too, the price of hay has slowly doubled over the summer as it became less and less likely there was going to be a dry enough period for it.
Prppylady, it was very yummy. no more courgettes now the frost has killed them.
Granny, yes thats zucchini, i wonder why we have different names for things?
TLC, glad you are still bringing in some harves, my beans are ok but not sure for how much longer.

David, we did have one very cold frost which has killed off a lot of stuff, and now its warmed up again. good luck garden hunting.

Such pretty veggies but so sad to see them coming to an end. Frost...what a bummer!
All good things must end I guess...at least in climates like ours.
Our compost pile has filled up very fast lately.
I hope you enjoyed the omlette :)
