Claire, i looked for the book tess (last blog post by you) wrote about a woman travelling alone on the "other side of the world", but haven't been able to find a link for you, but no matter! it really doesn't matter. haven't watched this either, because, yes, lots other to do and not to do! not sure which. but i do wish you a good day and lots of heartfelt love to last you through the new year and figuring out what matters to you. not been feeling well, but ah, well! so many of mine, perhaps yours too, have had covid and survived. so take that? you are a strong survivor. remember that and keep on keeping on!

not much time here either. not caught up with any of these saved videos. solstice today and looking forward to the nights getting lighter again, the dark does not do me any good at all.

ah! hear you on that one...

nearing dark again... curtains pulled to keep it warmer. twinkly lights on and candlelight (despite the cat would prefer a fire) -- and so we will make it through another night... (!) Claire, do you use music to help you thru the dark, damp hours? This new to me... But have been trying this... Something more available now -- tho I do prefer the sound of silence, but that no longer so available! So music. Along with the candlelight.

recently i have been sleeping well, i attribute this to the hanging above my bed of a simple dream catcher which someone gave me.
sometimes i wake up with a big intake of breath.... and feel wide awake, so i will get up and have a hot drink.. herbal tea or hot milk. maybe read for 10 minutes.
usually Casper will wake me up at some point, and ask to get out.
I've got a little mp3 player with a comedy series on it, soemtimes i put that on and fall asleep.
music, not so much, it seems to wake me up!! maybe classical is better for relaxing to. I would try it as something to help.

yes, music seems to wake me up as well, tho' I've tried all kinds... i am more listening to it on & off in the daytime which is new to me -- tho' i did try to use it to sleep to... but i need it in the daytime now... and to sleep offline, because that... well, you fill in the blanks?

today bing crosby! (not christmas for me, tho' that is it his music that is traditional here; my favorite of his is "dream a little dream of me"). he has strong ties to where i live now... surpringingly! he had a hidden yet profound influence on improved technology re: the music industry... i do like learning new things! and am grateful that i can.

i am not sleeping well, but yet i need to be in bed so much more than i ever did before! (OK -- wait-- that rhymes! "poet, didn't know it!" ;-) LOL!) plant 10,000 flowers in your minds eye & then again as a challenge on the ground... But never mind, I'm just being stupid, looking for ways to survive & be happy and healthy despite the odds...

thank you for coming to visit me all those years ago & hiking & kayaking & going to Seattle -- and buying me lunch at the Space Needle, which I wasn't allowed to -- now how many years back?!?

Cat still is stomping her feet and demanding a fire!
take care, Claire -- and stay as warm, bright, and cozy as you can -- then we'll make it to the other side.

cat got her fire despite misgivings for giving in...

lovely xx. cats love the heat. Casper now has a ''snuggle safe'' which is heated in the microwave for five minutes and stays hot for 12 hours... i pop it under my bed quilt where he sleeps... so he's ontop of the quilt, and usually underneath the blanket, and he curls up right on top of where the hot spot is . I'm at work all day and the heating is not on so its nice to think of him being cosy .

claire, that's a really good idea! i remember the cat bed you sent. really loved it and used it with a heating pad covered with a wool blanket back then... (i think the color red theme for all really helped to warm things up too! LOL) don't have a microwave, but could do a plant mat? in addition to the terra cotta candle heater... this new old cat isn't at all a lap cat! not a cuddly one... she has her fire again today, so is very, very happy.
