fly away Blossom....

I picked her up from the floor about ten days ago, she had flown into the rafters the day before but the next day she was down... an exhausted lost racing pigeon. A local falconer checked her over as uninjured but nothing left of her, no muscle .. nothing. She was kept quiet in a cat basket with proper food and today was driven a distance to be returned to a delighted owner reunited with her sister who was missing her.
Huge thank you to Gill for taking her down.

Ah, so sweet she looks, Claire!

I remember a pet pigeon who adopted me (& my kitty) for a week or two... I was quite surprised!

I have a flock of wild ones visiting daily from the tops of tall trees to my feeding table... They are pretty cool.

Now we could use another cat for mice, but... the birds! the squirrels! So we don't...

I'm glad to hear she was so well looked after in her time away from home. She is lovely.

Claire, I wanted to take a photo of our flock of wild pigeons for you, they are very cool birds, but they are also so shy! They always fly away when I open the door -- or even when they see me thru the window. So haven't gotten anywhere near a good shot yet...

We find it strange that city & message pigeons are so tame & seeking out humans... However, when I'm not looking, I hear these guys trying to break into the house by thumping against the window! Gently tho'!

Would you like to see a comment feature at my blog? Did I ask you this before? I know you are really busy, so not sure... And I know I often run out of time online if I spend time replying to comments & then I don't have time to go & visit other people's blogs... But you are one reason why I'm still out here in cyberspace blogging! (OK, no pressure at all! But sure sounds like it, doesn't it?!? Don't worry, it's not. I put up another poll to see what blog visitors think -- I tried it out & looks like it is working this time around...)

Hope you're having a good week there! Security word for this blog comment today is "provincial" -- are the computer gods trying to tell me something?!? I have had east coast import friends who use the word "provincial" -- and it isn't all that nice. LOL?

I did wonder why you didn't have comments, I don't think I knew they could be removed!
I don't check in everyday but I sometimes would leave a comment, I don't mind that I can't but I hope you know I'm thinking of you!! xx
