more salad!

here is one little tomato hiding in the. . .
tomato jungle!! the greenhouse muddled and these really should be more spaced out than this!
I have remembered to sow extra lettuce for when the ones I am eating run out, there has been salad every day for over two weeks and some for friends too. very generous stuff is lettuce!!
some lovely flower seeds arrived in a parcel from a friend today, they'll be scatter sown in the wilder parts of the flower borders.
the garden tonight, stuffed full, no more room!! peas and beans and things under fleece. the carrots have not germinated well, and I have still to check the parsnip and beetroot for germination. everything was 'stuck in' before I went on holiday and for the most part this seems to have been quite succesful. I do remember the garden plan, which I have sort of adhered to, but now there is no room for the brussels sprouts. oops!

No room for the brussels sprouts?
Let's eat tomatoes instead!

Look at all your lovely growing things! I am vainly trying to get my garden back up to speed... Better late, than not at all this year, I suppose.

It looks like you just returned from my neck of the world-woods (I live near Seattle, WA). It was fun to see the Space Needle and Roslyn Cafe on a Scottish blog. :-)

just a few pots of flowers and a lawn to mow in my gardening life this summer... the new house's INTERIOR will take all of my time. so i'll enjoy your garden vicariously... so very green and full of life!

but next year, things will be different.

Alie, I was glad it looked so good after I had a abandoned it for 2 weeks!
Becky, hopefully will have good tomatoes, the sprouts will get stuffed in somewhere!
TLC, its never too late, and Seatlle is warmer than it is here so you should be ok.
Grannyfiddler, hope your decorating goes ok, its not one om my best points.

Were those "bush" tomatoes or were they cordons that you had let ramble? The bush types grow well like that because they have each other for support.

Matron, they are heritage varieties. some of them are bush and some are cordon, but having been away at a crucial stage they have all gone 'completely mental', am trying to tame them but I have never been much good at pinching out. my friend Billy used to come and assault my tomatoes at least once a week, sadly he died a t Christmas so its up to me now.
