take aim , fire, break my heart

broken pane no 1
one stone gets 2 and 3
in the last seven days I have had 12 panes of glass broken. I am not happy, after replacing six already with glass last week, from this morning it is being replaced in plastic(recycled from a skip), which is not clear so I worry about the light.
this morning, after another four broken panes with glass spread all across the garden, I nearly took the whole damn thing down and thought about giving up.

on a cheerier note here is some inspiration from a friend
Be thankful for your vision, no matter how imperfect it may be, but don't hide under the table when you realize that you're wearing mismatched socks.- C. Elijah Bronner

and some seed growing tips also from a friendly e-mail

Oh Claire, what a horrible heartbreak! What/who has been breaking the glass on your hot house? Is it vandals? GGGGgggggggrrrrrrrrr.....

don't let them beat you
they'll get bored and go break something else next week instead

How awful.I have never understood what pleasure people get from vandalising other peoples property. Can you put sticky clear film over the panes to hold it in place ?If the glass doesn't break they'll move on to the next target.

Oh Claire, I can imagine the heartbreak! Rotten, rotten, rotten. I just can't imagine what makes some people so cruel and insensitive to the feelings of others.
Are they doing it during the night, or while you're at work during the day?
I hope and pray they get tired of their evil deeds and leave you alone.
Hope the plastic works and you can enjoy your greenhouse once again.
I admire your determination to think positive thoughts while suffering such depressing circumstances.
I'm going to do a bit more wintersowing.
Sending a hug and prayers for blessings xx

thankyou all for your kind words, it is very frustrating and it has been happening a lot over the last three months, I am just fed up with it.

Stupid gits!

I think that Robbie should tap dance on their toes.

I'm ready for summer too. Hoping yesterday's snowstorm was it.

Bonnie, Robbie would enjoy that!

Totally frustrating indeed, Claire. I'm surprised another child hasn't snitched on the culprits yet. They often will as they've been victimized as well. Time to set some live-traps. I still have to use candy as bait. I don't have a ready dealer for what they really want...

if you can keep your head, when those about you

are smashing things with nary een a clue

if you can build again when all men doubt you

but make allowance for their doubting too....

then yours is the garden, and all that's in it

and what is more, you'll bless the land, my friend

a friend of mine has a theory she calls 'makers and unmakers' Unmakers cannot appreciate the work of others, and must destroy that which they are incapable of; Makers see the value of others, and their efforts. they leave every place they go just a bit better than they found it. you, Claire are a Maker. Vandals are definitely unmakers. don't let 'em get you down
