moan

I have just replaced four panes of glass in the greenhouse. One pane was broken about a year ago and has been duck-taped up all that time. The other three fell victim to three fist sized stones on Sunday evening.
bah humbug, grumble, bah humbug. (translate that as necessary!!!!!)
As the greenhouse is fairly aged it has unusuall sized glass, so I have to have it cut to order and have to pay over the odds too.
More grumbling, however the glass cutting man said, ah well, they were keeping him in a job. . .

I find it funny that you have a label that says "moan"... But I moan about these types of things too, so why not admit it?!

Yes, bah humbug, bah humbug!

Wildside, I think its good to have a good moan now and then! and I am really annoyed about all the glass I have had to buy.

That's a shame, Claire. Time to take a walk in the neighbourhood and talk with kids, see what's on their minds. Let them know you're friendly and interested in them. Might win a few over...

Michael, all my glass breaking incidents have happened on a Sunday, which makes me think it may be a visitor and not one of the local kids, my ususal sneaks(three lovely girls who live downstairs and their two cousins) have no information about who did it and generally they are quite happy to get somebody else into trouble!

Would that shatter-proof plastic work in place of glass?

I think thats terrible throwing stones at your greenhouse like that, that would make me more mad than having to pay for the glass. I was thinking about you tonight because I've been putting a pics on my blog that I took when I lived in Alloa and I found one of Jamie Wright's Well, I wondered if you know where that is? I might post that picture tomorrow so take a look if you get a mo.

Madcap, I have a couple of plastic windowss from previous incidents, its agood idea but actually costs more than the glass. I'm thinking though of getting a totally new greenhouse thats all plastic.
Bob, I am mad!! I don't know where Jamies well is but I do visit Alloa so I'll have a look

Jamie's Well is somewhere around the Campsie Fells, I used to walk them sometimes when I lived in Alloa. I suspect it will be in some out of the way place. I'll post the pic later.
