Oh, you named a pea after me.

I have never heard of a sausage tomato. Because of the shape?

Granny, yes, its a very sweet pea. and the tomatoes sem to be long and thin so I guess so, I just thought they sounded interesting enough to grow.

Alice and Reba, hope your canada day celbrations were good!
Tlc, oh it seems sometimes as if things never grow and then suddenly there they are.
Bob, there seems to be a flurry of 'busy' then a lot of 'waiting', I'm not so good at the waiting!

i've just had a lovely wander through your garden. the peas were very tempting.

this summer my garden consists of a few pots of geraniums overwintered indoors from last year (with the most brilliant hot pinky red colored blossoms)and volunteer bachelor buttons, french marigolds, poppies, delphiniums, bluebells, snowdrop anemones and johnny jump-ups in a dozen or more other pots that sat near the current plants' ancestors last summer. i didn't plant a thing. they just started to grow in the pots when the spring rains came. there are also a few volunteer purple orach plants that hitched a ride! and something that appears to be a carrot!? this all sitting near the front steps, around an eeny bed of sweet williams and unhealthy looking evening scented stocks got from the local nursery. with any luck, the volunteers in the pots will produce seed and scatter it throughought the desolation of neglect that surrounds them. the former owner and tennants of this place were most assuredly NOT gardeners. i keep telling myself "next summer you can garden. this summer you're renovating. put that trowel and those pruning shears down, and go visit claire's garden"

Grannyfiddler, thankyou so much, this is such a nice comment to wake up to this morning. its diffiult not to garden, but you know its a time eater, just sit in your garden when you're having a break and plan it all in your minds eye, a good long think about it does better than an instant makeover. I haven't been posting much lately so I'll make an effort to get some more flowers on for you!!
