I bet its tasty anyway. Give me whole meal bread anyday. I particularly love spelt bread.

Hmmm? Looks like it was fun to make!

Claire - I was out at a local store yesterday buying kamut, spelt, quinoa and GKW flours for my next batch of bread making. With the lousy weather we've been having it's a great substitute for paddling! Glad to see you're baking!

That list of ways to fail makes me afraid to even start.

Seriously, I baked quite a bit of bread years ago but haven't tried lately. I should treat myself to a bread machine (or put the girls to work on the kneading).

Looks yummy Claire. I used to make sourdough bread but haven't done so in years. We LOVE homemade bread, especially wholewheat, but we're afraid we'd consume too much of it and we don't need the extra calories!
I'll be baking cookies today to take to church tomorrow. We chat over coffee and cookies after the service. It's fun. We take turns baking.

I've never baked bread, but Mom used to and it was great.

Reading your blog I just remembered I left some loaves to rise a couple of hours ago! I'm enjoying getting back to breadmaking. I also used to make sourdough - was a staple for years (one year we rented a cold ratty old house - was hard to get the starter started, but I did it).

Lilymarlene, it does taste yummy, its just a bit tough. . .
Wildside, well it filled an afternoon anyway, and hopefully I'll do it more regularly now I've started. the only thing I've made in the last while are your cranberry loaves and they are so easy and so good!
Michael, you have some unusual flours there. anyway I was inspired by you and your new machine!
Kerri, it is nice, I haven't made cookies for a good long time either, might give that a go too.
Alice, well if I can anybody can!
Squidink, are you on the computer and forgetting everything else? I do that too, and hours fly away.

Horizon, it did pass an afternoon anyway, the weather is just miserable and the forecast is for much the same for tomorrow and a bit drier on Tuesday. I am just going to get into a bath in an effort to heat up!

Wowser! Not sure about it looking like a buildling brick... If the builders had built my extension out of those I'd be either suing them or entering the Turner :-D

p.s. nice to see the comments are now open to us non-Blogger bloggers - I've been dying to comment for ages on your great blog!
