quietly unfurling in the corner of the coldfream is an Iris reticulata 'Katherine Hodgkin'
the snowdrop in the coldframe is indeed a beautiful double, the garden ones still not out.
in the garden the primulas are being brave enough to start to flowering, this is 'Pettycoats'
and another primula 'Marie Crousse'

Great, colorful pics, Claire.
Imma Thinkin'-They're-Beautiful
Beautiful flowers; our iris reticulata have just started blooming outside, early this year but then the daffs started flowering early too. They appeared before the snowdrops! Love the double primula...we have a few in the garden but they seem to be happier under cover as they don't seem to do as wel outside. Happy Gardening....
Primulas always remind me of my mum. She used to grow them...a tiny flowered, delicate variety that I never see over here. The flowers stood about 6 to 7 inches tall in a little grouping above the leaves. I should look them up.
How lovely to see your photos of beautiful blooms at this time of year! I don't think I've ever seen a double snowdrop before.
That pink is such a gorgeous color!
Great closeups!
Alice, thankyou!
Ruth, you must be much milder all the way down there! I am always so impatient for things to start happening in the garden in spring!
Kerri, I love primulas, there are so many differnt colours and forms, impossible to buy them all, and I'm trying!
all is white snow and clouds, blue shadows and sky, and pale golden light out my window still. your photos are a breath life for a spring-hungry soul.
