and there is fog

weather report:
A return to much more unsettled conditions will take place during Friday and over the final few days of 2006. Heavy rain along with strong to gale force winds will push across all parts of the country during the course of Friday, bringing some hazardous traveling conditions. Winds will reach 50 to 60 mph across exposed Northern and Western parts. Another area of low pressure will quickly follow on behind during Friday night and overnight into Saturday morning. This low pressure has the potential to bring some severe and damaging winds to parts of the country. At the moment, Ireland, North Wales, Northern England and potentially Scotland are at risk of seeing wind speeds in excess of 80mph between 6pm on Friday and 6am on Saturday 30th. The severe winds will quickly clear away during Saturday leaving a day of sunshine and blustery showers.
yuck.

Sure sounds like the perfect weather for staying in with a mug of lattea and a packet of chocolate biscuits!

Fiona, doll, marvellous weather for indoor shopping. no lattea left, possibly have gin somewhere. . .

But is gin sufficient for such a forecast? Best get in some single malt just in case!

BTW can you guess who Derrick's mystery female paddling partner will be in Puerto Rico? I think I know - you've left comments on her site too... Someone who recently wrote a bizarre letter to Santa on her blog!

OHM, you are really expecting some bad weather according to the forecast!

What a lovely pink flower! Is it a helleborus? It looks gorgeous! Are they already blooming in your garden at this time of the year?

Michael, you might be right, we'll have to wait for them to reveal their secrets! its not me anyway, too scary! also you might find this scary. . .I only drink whisky in coffee. . .
Anita, the forecast is bad, I hope it misses Scotland. the flower is a hellebore, theres a couple of them flowering just now, both pink, a single and this double one.

Wow, more fog? I saw on the news that your part of the world seemed to be fogged in over the holidays. Did that effect you? We had a terrible windstorm that caused a lot of hardship for people here. Lovely photos, it makes me want to garden, but mine is frozen right now!

Lisa, fog all blown away by high winds! too wet and windy to garden.
Bonnie, ick indeed, I am off to hide in the garden centre and drink coffee.
Allotment 21, think you all bettter keep a good eye on the weather reports! it doesn't look good.
Mrs Nesbit, I am just waiting for the next bout of wet to hit, gardening for today will consist of grabbing a couple of leeks for a friend.

I hope your weather wasn't as bad as it sounds here. We had just a bit of snow on Saturday, but now it's raining again with icy driving conditions. Luckily we're back home from our trip to see the grandsons (and their parents:)
I can't believe you have those lovely hellebores blooming!
Happy New Year to you Claire! I hope your year is full of blessings.
