real summer weather

no photograph , blogger 'notifying an engineer' it says.
The summer sun seems to have come out to play for real. The garden is bone dry and needs watering, I have finally taken off the fleece covering the beans and peas.
Last night we paddled across the Clyde from Greenock to Kilgreggan, its just over a mile so nothing hard involved. Hardly a ripple on the water, the sun slowly sinking behind the hills, the suface of the water almost feeling warm. . . .bliss.

Hi Claire,
My lake was a sheet of glass as well last evening as I paddled around - totally alone on a shimmering sheet of silver (not to over alliterate it LOL). It was the first non rainy day we've had in ages. Glad you got out on the water as well.

i was in a Valhalla Pure (specializing in outdoorsy type gear)store in the city last weekend, with my granddaughter. we both stood gazing longingly at the kayaks. i thought of you, Claire, as she said, "Gwammma, those awe nice boats!"

we consoled ourselves with buying matching orange Crocs (sort of vinyl Berkenstocks) they're wonderful in the garden.
