I have heard of this and wanted to do it. Hubby thought it was silly. I was unsure of what to do with it and where to keep it also. Isn't it neat, though?? I have seen people paint it up all nice and have it as art work.
Oh I can see them now, all hung in the nursery wall like trophies... "See, that one's me, there's me brother's and that one's me sister's... None of the cats got one. Mom said I was the biggest!" LOL Anyway, a great idea. I wish we'd done them. Now we've only sagging memories... (sigh).
I thought I'd mentioned Fiona, she is my best kayaking and gardening friend. having just turned 40 she thought she ought to get pregnant, a week later there she was, in shock! and has been ever since. baby due on 16.6.06 so they said, we're still waiting. as her husband does not drive and the hospital is 30 miles away we are all on standby, I am 25 miles away in the wrong direction and am therefore useless unless everbody else is not available and I can get my rusting heap to over 40 miles an hour to actually get there. ha. in time to catch it coming out maybe? I think the plaster cast on the wall is a great idea. My other friend Kirsty is due in 4 weeks, her man drives and I am one street away, its her second so I am not worried about her. also Kirsty is a nice maternal sort and used to look after Rosie all the time, Fiona has held a couple of babies for 5 minutes and has never looked after anybodys child for more than an hour. ha ha ha ( this is hysterical laughter)she thinks it is not going to affect her life and has paid her boat club fees as she thinks she'll be back down as soon as its born.....more hysterical laughter. I think she'll be a great mum but I will miss her, I'm off kayaking.
Oh dear. Well, her world is about to come unpinned, but who can prepare for becoming a parent, after all? I must say, she's very efficient, though - One Week!
a friend who had twins had 2 done! they're all nicely sanded and sealed, and could pass for marble. i always wonder how the kids will feel about them if they're kept on public display, though personally i think all those fruitful curves are quite beautiful.
Oh my, this brings back fond memories (I'm kidding, I think...). What an absolute riot :) It's hysterical! my hubby would like it. He thinks pregnant women are beautiful (funny, I certainly didn't feel beautiful!). And thinking about Fiona saying she ought to get pregnant at 40 and then doing it immediately (magic?)....and not having had any experience with kids..well...life will certainly change for her and her hubby. This is a funny story :) I wish them loads of happiness and the best of luck. I hope she's NOT 2 weeks overdue. That would really be the pits!
A lifetime of kind horsemanship, I think we were doing natural horsemanship before it was ''invented''
I have completed Level One with Quantum Savvy Natural Horsemanship.
I am sad I can no longer access the Parelli learning platform, its just too expensive with too many changes.
I've tried some clicker training with good results , but haven't found any one person to wholly agree with. I guess I'll just need to keep trying to see what works

I have heard, but never seen, the like. Where does one keep something of that nature? The shed? Corner of the parlour? The bedroom....?
Oh, I've got it! The nursery!!! To bring back fond memories, I guess.
When will she be de-bumped?
WHO IS FIONA!!? LOL A friend?? Relative??

Madcapmum, indeed efficient!!
Grannyfiddler, I think the wall is the best place for it, sure if they get fed up with it they can take it down.
Thanks for explaining about who Fiona is. Wow, is she in for a shock! LOL That IS hysterical! You are so funny! LOL I don't blame you for laughing.
First ones usually take longer to be born than any subsequent ones. So I am sure she will be fine, if you drive and live in the other direction.
Be sure to keep us posted, I can anxiuos to hear! My first we 2 weeks over due. I was on bedrest for two months before the due date, too. That STUNK.

Thanks for explaining. I just figured I'd missed something along the way.
rom your later post it sounds like she's still waiting.
Best wishes to her and your other pregnant friend. An epidemic?
Thats great, Claire. I show it to my daughter.
