(haven't seen the video) dear claire, i hope it bodes well for you today. this is a good idea for cheer and to ward off a bit of cold. i do this everyday now for our adoptee elderly cat. she requests it in the wee hours of the morning! she likes to see a flame and i don't always want to start a fire... and it really works well as a hand warmer if you have it on a table. of course, mine, from what i see in the initial picture, is much, much simpler? simply a terracotta pot i "inherited" with holes in it, a terracotta dish, a glass plate for insulation underneath, a scrap of tin foil to add to the light, and, well, what? a tea light -- usually lit in the wee dark hours. was on the dining table, now near the fire where her cushion lays. i think sometimes the easiest is the best answer... with found objects laying around, but being very careful to play it safe. i have yet to spray paint mine black as originally desired with some heat-resistant stove paint i have on hand from years ago, but by now am thinking: "Oh, well!" Because you gotta do what you gotta do, and with what you have (energy-wise and otherwise), don't you think?! a warm hug to you!

yes its a bit complicated in an easy way.... you would have to buy all the bolts and things, i've often thought of having one on the greenhouse floor,,, but i have no plain teracotta pots.. would have to buy one of those too.... and unless its on a shopping list I wouldn't remember... I have tea lights. x
