nearly. . . .

the snowdrops in the garden are nearly opening, still a bit chilly
the helleborus, teasing with its spotted inside
a lone crocus in a pot, hope it gets some friends soon!

its still wet, cold and miserable here. I did manage to get one veg bed dug over but its had no manure this winter, hopefully the past few years worth of improvements will hold out and I'll use a seaweed fertiliser. I'm not sure I've ever grown anything before without at least six inches of manure for it to snuggle into- hence the always forking carrots and parsnips. they might not look fabulous but they always taste amazing!

She surprises me sometimes.

so heartening to see that the entire world isn't frozen solid. it's snowing here, and -28C. these pix are so luscious, i can almost smell the earth in your greenhouse. my heart aches for green.

Everything here is still covered in ice, snow and the rest of that cold frozen crud, so I'm enjoying this. I too am having problems with leaving comments but I blame it all on Blogger!

I love the droplets of moisture on the crocus!

Before we know it, spring will be here!

Sara, still waiting for the crocus to open!
Wildside, I think Bob might have the right idea, snuggled up in a cosy bed watching television. I'm glad she likes it.
Grannyfiddler, not sure I could cope with it being that cold!
Glickster, thanks for the link, they're a lovely and fascinating plant.
Jodi, just at this moment the sun has come out, its lovely, and tantalising because I can see the rain following it over the hill. . .
Lowa, not sure if that was dew or melting frost. .

Buds in spring - such a pretty sight! The bulbs in my garden look pretty much like yours. Let's hope we get a long, long spring this year!
Greetings from Katarina (Sweden)

I'm always surprised that you seem so much warmer than us over there. I should be used to seeing your early blooms by now! Lucky you. We're just beginning another snowstorm, with up to 10" expected tomorrow. It's warmed up a bit since yesterday though, thank heavens. It was 5ยบ (-15 yesterday morning and hardly warmed up all day, with a frigid wind blowing in all the cracks.
