I ran into the garden in-between rain showers

hiding in the corner a little helbore gets ready to flower
lifted up for a peek inside
here is a pot of 'orange surprise' and 'happy birthday', which I think are tulips.
and the pot marked simply 'bulbs' has turned into a nice pot of snowdrops. fab!

Aha! You've posted... (You can see we're all bloom free right about now. So good to see yours!)

Katie, hopefully I can get out and get a shot of the helebores when they open.
Michael, early bulbs bring happiness! I'm easy pleased. .
Wildside, well I knew you were pining. . the snowdrops here are quite reliable, the garden ones are not out yet, these ones were tucked inbetween the coldframe and the fence so have braved the weather a bit sooner.

i was thinking of you and horizontal rain over the weekend, as i drove my son to Edmonton to catch a plane back to his home in the Yukon. we were having horizontal snow. -31C here today, with a windchill that brought us to something in the neighborhood of -50. your greenhouse looks like a wee bit of heaven on earth.

Hi Claire, you left message the other day about having parsnips & sprouts left, but the chard would be up soon - do you manage to grow chard in a greenhouse this time of year? Can you tell I'm missing dirt?? (It was covered in fluffy stuff but a freezing rain storm has it locked solid...) Alison

Bonnie, it starts to get exciting, after all of the hibernating I've been doing this winter!
Grannyfiddler, and I have the cheek to complain of it being cold here!? too wet though, car survived a flood on Satuday but its still coughing slightly. . .oops.
Alison, the chard is growing out in the open, still edible but its a bit bitter now, the roots will send up sweet leaves as soon as it warms up enough, then I'll chuck them out and plant seeds for the next crop. the sprouts are finished and the horses have eaten all the stalks, they love them.

These are all stunning, as always. I know when I come here, I can count on some beautiful sights for these old eyes to gaze upon.

I only wish I was not as lazy as I am, or I would have at least some of these pretties here at my house!

Oooh, a Hellebore! Lucky you! I keep looking for signs of spring growth in my plant, but nothing yet.
Isn't it lovely to see the snowdrops? Ours will be quite a while yet. Thanks for sharing yours..it helps to pacify my craving for color and blooms!
We had rain last night and early this morning, which turned to snow. Now the sun is shining brightly, making the snow sparkle. Pretty!

Lowa, thankyou, hopefully the weather will allow us more.
Kerri, raining now, forecast snow, still waiting for the hellebore to open.

Fantastic! Here we're still in the heart of winter, and you're busy starting up with spring. Are the horses shedding too?

Jodi, snowdrops are hardy things and will push through snow, which is whats foredast for the next couple of days with gale force winds and icy temperatures! most of the horses are safely under rugs to keep warm, apart from Katie who prefers mud! they wont get their summer coats till about april/may
