and here they are, the next morning, popped out of the moulds. I will be gifting them as I don't use wax melts. and for future candle making I will just straight away use the little bit up making wax melts. otherwise all these little bottles sit about taking up space.
GW 494 wax and fragrance oils are from Candle Shack . I used Cucumber and Melon, Warm Woods and Cashmere, Enchanted Forest.
the colours are left over from the first candle kit I used, and the moulds were gifted to me.

Hi Claire, this is really just meant as a "hello" from here to there and hoping that you are doing well today. I actually have to use unscented candles and buy tea lights because they have easier clean up and will burn out in a certain allotted time, usually 4 hours... BUT do love having candles around and used to make my own; actually sometimes still do with the leftover wax, but proper wicks are problematic. As a kid? Loved playing in the fireplace and melting wax... Couldn't play with matches, but they let me play in the fire. Imagine that these days?!?
I make candles in glass containers, so there is no mess, and I re-use the container for the next candle. the wicking is a problem ... it depends on the wax, the fragrance oil and the container... every single one thing changes the 'recipe'... Candle Shack, who are near enough for me to go and pick up, they supple everything and provide measurments to follow for most of the fragrance oils. I was given the job of lighting the fire when i was young... probably around 8? probably because i was always up first. so no... todays youngsters wouldn't be allowed unsupervised to be let loose with fire... lol..
Despite the fact our house was only heated by fire, my parents wouldn't let me do the matches, or light a fire, yet when friends came over we played endlessly in the fireplace, and they didn't mind at all. I was only allowed to put wood on the fire. It wasn't until I was an adult way beyond 20 years of old, on my own, that I learned how to light a match! This may because people around us lost their homes due to fire -- and where we lived remotely we didn't have a police force and we didn't have a fire brigade. Kudos to your parents for giving you such responsibility!
