Claire, I didn't watch the video but I'll go ahead and tell you what I do because it has worked well for me and everything I previously read seems to make the process far too complicated for me to even want to try...

I know you are a practical sort & busy too -- so I think this quick method will work well for you? Very, very simple -- I scrape out the seeds of tomatoes as I'm prepping for dinner and dry them on a small piece of cereal box labelled with their name and date collected. Then, once dry, I store them away, in a junk mail envelope, with may be a desiccant packet salvaged from a vitamin bottle or something other, and that's it. Then the next year I plant cardboard & all in a little black pot and let grow for months inside on the windowsill before planting out around June... Once outside, usually with a plastic bottle cloche over top to protect which I later remove once the plant outgrows it... Do still need a lot more protection from deer, etc. though! Lots of wee tomatoes happening now growing in containers up on our protected deck space & all for free. The others below in the ground are a loss, but hey -- those were free too? (I'm trying to console myself!)

i've got some on a paper towel, stuck to it, and some i've seperated. still to find some desicant, which is a good idea.
