this is Abbeys great-grandad on her dads side, also great-great-great grandad twice on her dads side... and also great-great-great grandad on her mums side and also great-great-great-great grandad on mums side.... too scared to keep looking back in her pedigree now....... er...

That is a truly wonderful expression on her face!
I remember being shocked when I first read the following:
All modern Thoroughbreds can trace their pedigrees to three stallions originally imported into England in the 17th century and 18th century. Abbey's pedigree isn't so strange after all.
welsh cobs trace back to a limited supply of animals that passed the grade I suppose.
the thouroughbred stud book still took registrations for part bred animals up unitl about 1970 so new blood was allowed in... not now though. I don't know if the welshies did that.
