one little daffodill

one little daffodill out today, this is about 6" high. I love daffodills so hopefully all its relatives will be flowering soon.
and in the background a Chinodoxa Forbessi, glory of the snow. very pretty and lots to flower in this clump too.
more seeds into trays today...in the house I've done the following tomatoes..Rutgers, Royal Chico, Yellow Brandywine, Black Brandywine, Oregon Cherry and Gardeners Delight. also in the house are Aubergine Tres Hative de Barbentane and Sweet Nardello Pepper.
into the greenhouse a tray each of Delphinium Galahad and Agastache Blue Spike, I think they might look very nice planted with each other. if they get that far, I often plant seed trays of flowers which get neglected in favour of the veggies needing done.......

Lovely to see the flowers coming out Claire. Saw your last post- doing better than me this year. I feel so behind with my seeds and garden. Husband painted the front wall today though- nice weather.
We're having extra loft insulation put in on Tuesday so everything from the attic has been brought down- arghhh. So much to go through- l can hardly move.
bests for now

Horizon, don't think the weather is encouraging much gardening! much better staying in and clearing out stuff!

I agree on the greed and speed of our world. I too enjoy the simplicity of life, gardening, taking pictures, riding my bike when I can. Right now we are in very close quarters with our neighbors. We often get tested.. lol!

mitambien, thankyou for visiting, you know I wrote that comment in 2005 and reflecting on it today I find it sad that my views are still the same.

I too have one daffodil about to bloom tomorrow. My first grape hyacinth came out today. Brave beings they are in these super high winds 50-60 mph yesterday and today. I'm hoping this front passes soon. I think wind can make people crazy!

Now I feel I have to get out and get some seed sowing done! have managed to get some broad beans in, but like you spent quite a abit of time clearing up and getting ready, and now it's nearly the end of march!

we're grieving for green here still.... your daffs are a sample of heaven.... i'm SO looking forward to starting the transformation on my postage stamp sized weed patch this year. and planting the whole place with bulbs in the fall (or as many as the budget will allow) but right now everything is still under 4 feet of snow.

Your flowers are looking wonderful and I hope you have more of them now.

When I read your list of tomato plants I was very impressed. Do they ripen at different times or do you feed a village?

Claire, I don't have daffodils yet, but they're coming. I had a meeting last night with the 3 other women I'm coming to Scotland with, at the end of June. Can you recommend any gardens we should see around Edinburgh other than the Botanical and Princess St.? We'll also be in the Aberdeen, Inverness & Dumfries areas.

That is one lovely daffodil anyway. Our garden is waiting for some clear weather; we have tons of clean up yet to do also.
Nice blog!
