these are the older dulled down poles which did not seem to bother her at all, its probably less than a foot high in the middle and still she makes sure she has plenty of height. she puts a lot of power into her jumps and if I feel like she is throwing me out of the saddle. its been a long time since I did any 'proper jumping'......and it may a long time, if ever, before I do any more!

show jumping?
there was a couple of wee jumps set up so I though Abbey and I could try them. this jump is only a foot high....Abbey is going over it like it was three feet! she was a bit taken aback by these white and blue poles, we might try some walking and trotting over them this week to see if she learns they will not bite her, funny how she was showjumper in her previous life but still takes fright at things she must have seen before.

I see you still have lovely pictures.
Love seeing the pictures of your horse. A good friend of mine started taking lessons last year and her first show is coming up soon. She's very excited.
Grany, hi!! long time no hear from! how are you doing?
Bonnie, I'm not brave enough to go to shows, only to watch....
What fun! I never got into 'proper jumping', although there was one summer visit to an aunt where my sister and I got into taking her horse Max's neighbor Cindy, a very sweet old kid-friendly mare with a nice comfy round back, into the arena & jump her over little bitty cavaletti bareback. That was fun. I must've been in 4th grade or so, long time ago. I would probably fall off & break my head now.
Nice to see you're having such fun with Abby!
PS - lots of plants on Frogma this week - hope you'll stop by!
hi Bonnie, its fun but I wouldn't want to be serious about showjumping.
She looks very good but I can well understand why she wouldn't be thrilled at the sight of the plastic poles. It' almost as though they've been built to confuse.
